Train Lead Singer Pat Monahan And Acclaimed Winemaker James Foster Introduce Drops of Jupiter® Wine Label
World-Renowned Musician and Accomplished Winemaker Team Up to Spearhead Globally-Inspired Wine Portfolio Benefiting San Francisco Non-Profit Family House
LIVERMORE, Calif., Nov. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Pat Monahan, frontman for the GRAMMY Award-winning band Train, and acclaimed winemaker, James Foster, announce the debut of Drops of Jupiter (SRP $20), a new portfolio of wines sourced from celebrated wine regions around the world. Drops of Jupiter is a follow-up to the duo's successful California-sourced, Save Me, San Francisco Wine Co. portfolio. Launching as a standalone brand, Drops of Jupiter is a natural next progression for the pair as they go beyond borders to explore exciting, up and coming winegrowing regions with a more premium product and price point.
Named after the hit song that started it all for Pat and his band Train, Drops of Jupiter offers a potable interpretation of the song's core message, which is simply – to embrace this life. Crafted in collaboration with friend and winemaker, James Foster, the wines are individually expressive of the unique terroir from which each is sourced. The inaugural Drops of Jupiter collection includes:
- a Cabernet Sauvignon from the heart of Southeastern Australia's most prized growing regions
- a Pinot Noir from California's up and coming San Benito AVA on the Central Coast
- a Sauvignon Blanc from the famed Marlborough region of New Zealand
"As a touring artist and long-time wine enthusiast, I've had a unique opportunity to experience two of my biggest passions while traveling the world, performing for incredible international crowds and exploring wines from esteemed winegrowing regions across the globe," said Pat Monahan, Drops of Jupiter Proprietor. "Thanks to the support and expertise of my co-pilot, James Foster, Drops of Jupiter is a dream come to life showcasing a diverse compilation of standouts from these grape explorations, including something you might not expect, all under one label."
With nearly two decades of winemaking experience, James Foster has traveled the world crafting high caliber wines of distinction. In his role as winemaker for Drops of Jupiter, James ensures each wine receives the ultimate level of nurture and evaluation to ensure a world-class tasting experience, whether he's traveling to New Zealand to walk the vineyards with local growers or tasting with Pat to craft the ideal stylistic profile.
"Drops of Jupiter is the kind of project that reminds me what it is about making wine that I love so much – the possibilities are endless," said James Foster, Drops of Jupiter Winemaker. "When Pat suggested the idea of a Cabernet from Australia, a perhaps unconventional place to source Cabernet, we dove in head first to the southeastern reaches of Australia where we discovered some of the most amazing, concentrated fruit we have ever tasted. And the resulting wine is just as rich and expressive as we imagined it would be. I'm equally ecstatic about our Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc, and couldn't be more pleased to share Drops of Jupiter with the world."
Drops of Jupiter continues Pat's philanthropic efforts in the community with proceeds supporting Family House, a non-profit organization providing temporary housing to families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Benioff Children's Hospital.
Drops of Jupiter wines are now available in select markets, as well as nationally online through Amazon until the end of the year. For more information, visit www.dropsofjupiter.com.
