TrailRunner International Appoints Kelly Wallace as New York Managing Director
Former CNN Correspondent and Editor-at-Large to lead firm's New York team
NEW YORK, Jan. 16, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- TrailRunner International has named Kelly Wallace as Managing Director of its New York office, effective January 22. In her new role Wallace will lead the firm's New York-based team and work with TrailRunner clients on matters of corporate reputation, media affairs, crisis management and influencer engagement. Founded in 2016, TrailRunner International is a global strategy and communications advisory firm with offices today in New York; San Francisco; Washington, D.C.; Shanghai; and Truckee, Calif.
An award-winning journalist and communications leader, Wallace brings more than 20 years of media and communications experience to TrailRunner International. Her distinguished career in communications includes print and broadcast television and, for the past decade, leadership in the digital space driving innovation at CNN and iVillage, one of the first digital content and community platforms for women.
"Kelly is a battle-tested and proven international communications leader who drives results," said Jim Wilkinson, Chairman & CEO, TrailRunner International. "Her experience and leadership will add to our strong and growing team as we continue to help key companies and organizations tackle their communications challenges and opportunities."
"I am excited to join the team at TrailRunner, a firm that has quickly become the go-to advisor for some of the most interesting, complex, and important organizations in the world," said Wallace. "TrailRunner's incredible growth is due to the strength of the team and to an unrelenting focus on helping clients win, and I look forward to contributing to the work we do for our clients around the world."
Wallace's deep media experience includes serving as a network television news correspondent, covering The White House, the Middle East, and political campaigns for CNN; national news for CBS; and the State Department for Fox News Channel. At CNN, she was part of the network's Peabody and DuPont award-winning team coverage of Hurricane Katrina and the South Asian tsunami disaster, respectively.
Wallace became increasingly interested in the future of digital media, and in 2008, moved to iVillage to serve as executive director of digital video and the channel's first-ever chief correspondent. In this role, she served as iVillage's spokeswoman and conducted high-profile content interviews, including with then-First Lady Michelle Obama. In 2012, she received a Gracie Award as outstanding digital correspondent.
Just prior to joining TrailRunner, Wallace was a digital correspondent and editor-at-large for CNN (her third stint at the network), driving innovation around parenting and women's content. She is also a highly sought-after moderator and speaker at events and high-profile panels on a wide range of issues – from digital citizenship at Twitter headquarters to changes in the tech industry at SXSW.
Wallace graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in economics. She lives in New York City with her husband and two daughters.
