AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Ticketbud, an Austin-based event registration and online ticket sales company, has announced that it will continue to handle website and on site ticket purchases for an annual holiday favorite, the Austin Trail of Lights. Founded in 1965, the Trail of Lights is an Austin tradition produced by the nonprofit organization, the Trail of Lights Foundation. The annual tradition features more than 2 million lights, interactive displays, and local entertainment. Frequently requiring more than 1,000 volunteers to handle the 400,000 plus attendees every year, the Trail of Lights required a ticketing system able to handle a large amount of visitors. Organizers at the Trail of Lights were impressed with Ticketbud's handling of its high-volume event, scalable platform, powerful event ticketing software, and most critically, expert customer service.
"Its great to work with Trail of Lights. It's such a well known and cherished local event," said Ticketbud COO Kayhan Ahmadi. "The entire team has been putting forth best efforts so that everything goes smoothly for the hundreds of thousands of attendees."
The Trail of Lights is one of the largest events in Central Texas, and needs a significant amount of features in order to make sure the purchasing as well as entry process goes smoothly. As the event grows larger each year, it needs a flexible and powerful event software solution to handle the amount of visitors as well as a strong at-the-door solution.
"We turned to Ticketbud's white glove customer service so that we can focus our efforts on the many other operational components of the event. Their ability to manage customer service and questions is a huge asset to our team!"
James Russell, Executive Director, Trail of Lights Foundation
Ticketbud's software allowed the Trail of Lights to utilize their own branding to provide a seamless and designed experience for their customers. Part of this branding initiative was in a customized widget installed on the Trail of Lights website that allows guests to purchase tickets without having to go to the Ticketbud ticketing site. Another addition was a custom branded ticket for Trail of Lights that enabled the event to promote sponsors and featured activities.
A new feature to Ticketbud and also to Trail of Lights was a mobile Point of Sale card reader. The new mobile Point of Sale will help Trail of Lights with cash flow and reduces the wait time in lines, producing a more satisfied attendee.
Trail of Lights is using all of Ticketbud's tools to their full extent, such as its advanced analytics system that allow producers to track daily ticket sales. Another benefit of Ticketbud was next-day payouts, allowing the Trail of Lights to collect revenue 24 hours after a ticket is purchased. Finally, Trail of Lights is using Ticketbud's white glove customer service to handle all inbound requests.
