TrackR Appoints New Chief Executive Officer
New Leadership Brings Strong Business Acumen and Deep Knowledge of Scaling Consumer Technology Organizations
GOLETA, Calif., Dec. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, TrackR®, a leader in the smart item tracking space, announced that Chief Operating Officer, Nate Kelly, will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer. He will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and strategic initiatives of TrackR, working closely with the leadership team to drive continued growth. Previous CEO and co-founder, Chris Herbert, will continue as a strategic board member with a focus on supporting Nate as he builds on the company's momentum.
"I am extremely proud of what TrackR has accomplished and incredibly excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for us," said Chris. "Nate is a seasoned leader with the vision, expertise, and innovative mind necessary to ensure TrackR is successful. His proven track record for driving operational excellence and deep understanding of how to rapidly scale a business will be instrumental throughout the future of our company."
In 2009, Herbert and fellow co-founder, Christian Johan Smith, set out to create a platform and product suite to redefine personal organization by automating the task of remembering the location of everyday items. Since TrackR's inception, the company has shipped more than eight million units worldwide and recently secured $50 million in Series B funding in August 2017.
"Over the past few months of working alongside Chris, I've gained a tremendous amount of respect for him and the company he helped start. I look forward to our continued partnership on the vision and evolution of TrackR," said Nate. "I am extremely honored to assume the role of CEO as we build a great company on this solid foundation."
"TrackR has grown rapidly over the past few years. We are excited about Nate taking the CEO role. His background of rapid scaling category-leaders such as SonyEricsson, Palm and Sonos perfectly positions him to help us take TrackR to the next level," added Brad Feld, Partner at Foundry Group and TrackR board member.
