TraceSpan Releases IPTV Service Analysis Solution for GPON Tracer™
World's first and only handheld GPON Tester can now analyze IPTV channels carried on the GPON network
RA'ANANA, Israel, September 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
TraceSpan™ Communications, a leader in broadband analysis and monitoring solutions, announced today the release of the IPTV service analysis solution for the GPON Tracer™ 380 handheld tester.
The IPTV service analysis solution expands the functionality of GPON Tracer™ by allowing its users to troubleshoot IPTV services on-site. It analyzes the IPTV channels on the network and presents a variety of service quality metrics for each these channels. It presents its results in a user-friendly format in tables and graphs, which may be exported to HTML files for easy sharing.
GPON Tracer™ is the ideal tool for telecom operator's field engineers involved in GPON network troubleshooting, as well as for OLT and ONU manufacturers' customer support teams. With its user-friendly touch-screen interface, GPON Tracer™ provides a rich variety of real-time indications in textual and graphical formats. It also includes a built-in mechanism for escalation of complex issues to higher tiers, by means of recording the GPON and upper layer protocol data for extensive analysis by the GPON Xpert™ multi-layer analyzer.
"IPTV is a big opportunity for service providers to expand their business, and this is one of the main accelerators for GPON deployments," said Dr. Hanan Herzberg, TraceSpan founder and CEO. "Short response time and clear isolation of the source for customer issues are key factors for service providers' success, and TraceSpan has addressed these needs with GPON Tracer™ and has now further enhanced it with the service analysis solution."
Since its launch last year the GPON Tracer™ has been shipped to a number of major telecom operators and manufacturers, who have all provided excellent feedbacks about it. Many others are in the process of purchasing it to provide their field support teams with new testing capabilities never seen before.
The IPTV service analysis solution will be given upon request for a free-of-charge trial period to existing GPON Tracer™ customers as well as those who will purchase it until the end of 2014. It is planned to be expanded in the future to provide deep analysis for additional services on the GPON network.
GPON Tracer™ and the IPTV service analysis solution will be presented in the OSP Expo exhibition and conference in Baltimore, MD, September 30th through October 2nd, 2014, booth 1722; and in the Broadband World Forum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, October 21st through 23rd, 2014, stand no. D91.
