Toyota to Have Large Presence at Lollapalooza
CHICAGO, Aug. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Toyota makes its return to the annual Lollapalooza festival this weekend, with fun-filled activities for the entire family.
Besides showing off an array of new cars, Toyota will have two activity areas in historic Grant Park, home to a three-day cultural extravaganza renowned for its diverse musical acts, delicious food and unique arts and crafts. Lollapalooza 2012 is scheduled to run Friday, August 3 through Sunday, August 5.
Toyota's two tented activity areas include the "Prius Family Playground" and "Toyota Free Yr Radio."
The Prius Family Playground features activities that encourage playful competition, with a familiar Toyota twist. This tent is located by Green Street, south off of Columbus Drive. The elements in the Prius Family Playground include: Human Powered Prize Wheel, with attendees powering a life size wheel in order to win a prize; Prius v Whac-A-Hipster, based on the classic Whack-a-Mole game; Prius Plug-In and Charge Up Station, where five guests can sit in a Prius Plug-In and charge up their mobile devices for five minutes; and the Prius Family Challenge, featuring each vehicle in the Prius family lineup, with guests playing for tasty Prius soda pop. Guests visiting the Prius Family Playground tent can pick up free "cooling bandanas" – commemorative Toyota/Lollapalooza headwear.
Returning for its sixth year, Toyota Free Yr Radio will be collaborating with a local independent radio station (WLUW 88.7 FM – Loyola University) as they broadcast live from the tent to cover performances and interviews by various Lollapalooza musical artists. The tent, located north of the fountain next to the BMI stage, will be adorned in a steampunk style decor. Elements within the tent include: Corolla Lenticular Photo Booth, where guests can take an on-site photo and have a digital copy emailed to them; DIY Leather Work Station, where visitors can design and decorate a personalized leather bracelet or headband; and Prius c Claw, where attendees use a claw's pulley system to try to grab prizes through the sunroof of a Prius c. Guests can also pick up complimentary Silk Screened Tote Bags, which are silk screened on site with the design courtesy of an online contest.
