Town Sports International Holdings, Inc. Names Paul Barron Chief Information Officer
Barron Brings Over 22 Years Of Industry Experience To New Position
NEW YORK, Feb. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Town Sports International Holdings, Inc. (TSI) (Nasdaq: CLUB), a leading owner and operator of fitness clubs in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic regions of the United States, announced today Paul Barron has been named Chief Information Officer. In this role, Mr. Barron will be responsible for developing and driving information strategy and innovation. He will report directly to Robert Giardina, TSI's CEO.
Most recently, Mr. Barron was vice president of global accounts for Newmarket International, the leading software company for hospitality sales automation. Mr. Barron was responsible for developing and implementing key business strategy to drive organizational growth. Prior to his tenure at Newmarket, he served as vice president of IT solutions, property operations at Starwood Hotels and Resorts. Mr. Barron led a team of IT professionals in delivering solutions and lifecycle management in 900 properties across 100 countries, with a particular emphasis on technologies used directly by the customer. He was also responsible for the technologies that supported several corporate functions including sales, brand marketing and business development. While at Starwood, Mr. Barron led the implementation of Starwood's most recent CRM system as well as the company's first intranet.
