TowerSec Has Leading Role At escar USA Conference 2015
DETROIT, May 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- TowerSec, a global automotive cyber security company, will take a leading role at the escar USA conference 2015 as it showcases its fully embedded ECUSHIELD software and one of its executives examines cyber security issues in connected vehicles and their impact on the ecosystem.
escar, the leading cyber security conference, will hold its US meeting May 27-28 at the Ann Arbor Marriott Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest in Ypsilanti, MI.
TowerSec will exhibit its ECUSHIELD software product, which stops vehicle cyber threats now and in the future and is the only tested and proven onboard pure software security solution available for immediate deployment. Once integrated into a CAN-BUS accessible ECU or Gateway, ECUSHIELD provides continuous monitoring while identifying new threats to the vehicle. It prevents malicious communication from reaching mission critical systems inside the vehicle that could put lives and personal data at risk.
ECUSHIELD turns any ECU into an Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDS/IPS) System and any gateway ECU into a smart firewall. It is already proved that ECUSHIELD can be used in existing and future vehicles, including fleets, with no hardware or communication redesign.
TowerSec plays a meaningful and active role in the automakers and suppliers specific effort integrating ECUSHIELD technology into their systems as part of a comprehensive security plan.
Anuja Sonalker, TowerSec vice president of engineering and operations for North America, will present a paper entitled "Next Generation Connected Vehicles and Their True Impact on the Ecosystem – A Cyber Security Perspective."
As a known security expert, Sonalker is well aware of the cyber security challenges facing the automotive world today. She has a long history of cyber security innovation from automotive to distributed systems and internet infrastructure. She is also a strong believer in collaborating with customers to ensure their needs are met.
"escar's goal is to encourage collaboration among private industry, academia and government to stop modern in-vehicle cyber security threats," said TowerSec CEO Saar Dickman. "We firmly believe this is the best way to provide vehicles with the ability to protect and defend themselves against attacks. While there is much more under the hood in terms of providing cyber security for future vehicles than is publically known, the automakers are looking now for the right solutions to resolve cyber security concerns. ECUSHIELD is that solution."
TowerSec, also a sponsor of the escar conference, was founded by a team of highly trained Israeli cyber security experts and Detroit-based automotive experts with vast knowledge of the global automotive industry and a focus on safety and security solutions.
