"This is wonderful for individuals interested in earning a graduate degree to explore their interests," said Dr. Toni Thomas Luskin, professor and director of the Media and Communications Psychology program. "It is what online learning and media and communications psychology is all about."
Touro University Worldwide launched the Media and Communications Psychology program in the fall of 2009 with 50 master's degree students. Since 2009, TUW has launched additional accredited master's degree programs, including:
- Marriage and Family Therapy
- Organizational and Leadership Psychology
- Physician's Assistant Program
- MBA
- Media and Communications Psychology
"Our Media and Communication's Psychology degree program includes the study of human behavior in various forms of media, from e-mail and texting to Twitter and Facebook. No matter what your career choice may be, understanding the gravity and power of instant communication through the Internet is imperative," Luskin explained.
Current students in the Media and Communications Psychology program are identifying the benefits of understanding how the use of digital media has changed the way they work and live. "I just got a Facebook ping from a friend saying: 'You're doing what all of us talk about, but haven't done.' I've loved the pacing, content and colleagues I have encountered in my Master's degree program. It is an intellectual homecoming, yet nearly everything is new," said Martin Perlmuter, a TUW student and writer from the San Francisco Bay Area.
TUW is now enrolling new students every day. To participate in the open house go to the website at: www.TUW.edu. To discuss a program or find out how you can apply, please contact:
