Touro University Worldwide Offers New Scholarship, Reduces Price of Tuition up to 40% for Recipients
Students who apply by December 31, 2013, can take advantage of a new scholarship program to make online degrees more affordable and fulfill the university's mission of increasing access to higher education.
LOS ANGELES, Dec. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- New students earning online degrees at Touro University Worldwide (TUW) may have a bigger bank account in 2014, thanks to the New Year, New You Scholarship offered by the university. Touro University Worldwide will provide 100 scholarships that reduce tuition up to 40% to those seeking certain online degrees.
"At TUW, we are committed to making higher education more accessible and affordable," said Dr. Yoram Neumann, CEO of TUW. "With these scholarships from TUW, we are helping to create conditions for students to begin or continue their education without the need for outside loans."
For eligible degrees, scholarship recipients will reduce their tuition by $450 per course for a Bachelor degree and $600 per course for a Master degree. That means students can save up to $18,000 as they earn a Bachelor degree, and up to $7200 as they earn a Master degree.
The scholarships are available for the following degrees:
- Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
- Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management
- Master of Arts in Industrial and Organizational Psychology
- Master of Arts in Media and Communications Psychology
- Master of Business Administration
To apply for the scholarship, students must be new to Touro University Worldwide, complete the standard application and write a 300-word essay discussing how their educational and career goals align with TUW's mission. Entries must be submitted by December 31, 2013, and students must begin classes by January 13, 2014. To maintain the scholarship for the duration of their tenure at TUW, students must maintain a 2.0 GPA (Bachelor degree) or 3.0 GPA (Master degree).
