TouchPal Contacts+ Named Finalist at TechCrunch Disrupt Beijing 2011 Startup Battlefield
Wows Judges with Innovative Real-Time Social Integration for Smartphone Contact Lists
BEIJING, Nov. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- CooTek announced today that its newly launched TouchPal Contacts+ mobile app was selected as a Finalist at the TechCrunch Disrupt Beijing 2011 Startup Battlefield.
Disrupt Startup Battlefield is the premier tech start-up launch competition. Organized by TechCrunch and held at TechCrunch Disrupt Beijing, over 400 companies submitted applications and only 17 were picked to participate. TouchPal Contacts+ was the only mobile app chosen as one of six finalists. Participants competed by presenting to a panel of judges which included prominent innovators, investors, and influencers in the tech community.
TouchPal Contacts+ is a "smart" contacts manager for mobile devices that manages your contacts in real-time, making long and cumbersome contact lists a thing of the past. The app is currently in private beta and will be available in the iPhone App Store and Android Market by the end of November.
Key Features:
Real-Time Social Integration: TouchPal Contacts+ fully integrates with the most popular social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter so you can post one status update and have it appear on all your social media services and in your friends' contact lists.
Real-Time Availability Status Indicators: Easily assign "busy" or "available" indicators so your friends know when you're free. Availability of contacts is indicated right in your contact list so you always know when to call.
Availability Alerts and Automatic Callbacks: Receive alerts when contacts change their availability status from busy to available. TouchPal Contacts+ can even automatically call back contacts when they hang up a call.
Dynamic Contact Card Management: TouchPal Contacts+ automatically updates your own contact information and pushes it out to all your contacts, so any changes you make show up instantly when friends search for you in their contact list.
Cross Platform Integration: TouchPal Contacts+ is available for Android, iOS, and soon Windows Phone 7. No matter which phone you and your contacts have, your contact list will stay updated and organized.
"When it comes to contact lists, today's smartphones just aren't that smart," said CooTek CEO Michael Wong. "They're a pain to sort through and use and they don't offer much functionality. TouchPal Contacts+ makes contact lists useful again with real-time status indicators, social integration, and dynamic contact card management. We're honored that TechCrunch is as excited about TouchPal Contacts+ as we are and we're thrilled to be selected as a finalist at this year's Startup Battlefield."
