Touchjet Named a 2016 Gold Edison Award Winner
Winners Announced at New York Ceremony; Awards Celebrate 29 Years of Honoring Innovation
NEW YORK, April 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Edison Awards, which honor the best in innovation and excellence for the development of new products and services, announced today that Touchjet, the first company to create interactive Android touch technology on a large and portable scale, was voted a Gold winner for innovation at the April 21st event, which took place at The Capitale in New York City.
The award recognizes Touchjet for the design of its Touchjet Pond Projector. The device turns any flat surface (wall, ceiling, floor) into an interactive Android touchscreen up to 80" so families, professionals and educators can display and interact with any of the hundreds of thousands of Android apps on a large touchscreen.
Being recognized with an Edison Award has become one of the highest accolades a company can receive in the name of innovation and business. The awards are named after Thomas Alva Edison (1847-1931) whose inventions, new product development methods and innovative achievements literally changed the world, garnered him 1,093 U.S. patents and made him a household name around the globe.
"Our judges recognized Touchjet as a true innovator out of the many products in its category," said Frank Bonafilia, executive director of the Edison Awards.
The ballot of nominees for the Edison Awards™ was judged by a panel of more than 3,000 leading business executives including past award winners, academics and leaders in the fields of product development, design, engineering, science and medical.
"Much like Thomas Edison, we are trying to create products that have a real value in society and satisfy an existing need—our goal is to open the door to shared experiences that are not currently available," said Helen Thomas, CEO of Touchjet. "Touchjet was founded to create devices that change how we think about interacting with each other and the world around us."
