PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Total Retail, the preeminent source for industry executives looking for the latest news and analysis on the retail industry, is proud to announce the release of its first annual Salary Benchmark Report. The extensive report is comprised of data analyzing key statistics on retail executives' salaries, benefits and views on career growth potential.
Last July, Total Retail surveyed its audience over a two-week period, collecting nearly 700 responses. Several variables were examined to provide a comprehensive look into retail executives' salaries, including gender, age, experience, title, department, geographic region, retail vertical, organizational department, and company size (by annual revenue).
What resulted is a 30-plus page comprehensive report. This extremely valuable resource can be of help to both retail employees as well as employers as they negotiate salaries.
Total Retail's research initiatives are led by Nathan Safran, director of research at NAPCO Media, parent company of Total Retail.
"I'm thrilled to have participated in the Total Retail salary research," commented Safran, a former Forrester Research analyst. "The industry salary data will prove to be invaluable to retailers, HR managers and executives in the industry."
"Total Retail created its 2016 Salary Benchmark Report as a service to our readers," says Melissa Campanelli, editor-in-chief/content director of Total Retail. "Until now, our readers — retail executives across multiple organizational departments — didn't have a comprehensive, one-stop-shop report that provides the data they need to ensure they're maximizing their earning potential."
The survey is important for retail executives who are hiring talent as well. "Now, retail employers have a handy guide to use as they look to negotiate fair and competitive compensation packages," Campanelli continues. "That's no small task in today's competitive retail environment, where companies are not only fighting over consumers' wallets, but also to attract and retain the executive talent critical to running a profitable business."
The Salary Benchmark Report is available to download online for free.
With the expert guidance of Safran, Total Retail will produce four more retail research projects in 2017, including a second annual Salary Benchmark Report.
"We are excited about the report and will publish it annually going forward," Campanelli added. "To be a true resource for our readers, we have to keep up with the latest salary trends, as well as be able to offer comparisons around salaries year over year. Publishing annually will enable us to do just that."
