Total Merchant Services Opens Its EMV Chip Card Payment Technology to All Developers
Groovv SDK provides semi-integrated payment solution for software developers
WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., April 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Total Merchant Services, a leader in payment services and solutions, today made its Groovv Software Development Kit (SDK) for semi-integrated payments available to software and app developers. The plug-and-play capability of Groovv SDK makes it easy and less costly for developers to ensure that their users comply with EMV and payment card industry (PCI) data breach prevention and mitigation requirements.
The EMV mandate requires that businesses accept payments via EMV chip cards, also referred to as "smart cards," or face liability for counterfeit credit card fraud. Most integrated payment solutions transfer cardholder data from the point of sale card terminal to the software or app, placing the burden of meeting EMV and PCI requirements on developers. Groovv SDK changes that by encrypting card data at the terminal, keeping EMV and PCI compliance "out of scope" for POS software and apps. This semi-integrated environment ensures that all systems work together seamlessly and that merchants are in full compliance.
Groovv SDK is easy to implement and includes a dedicated support team and online tools for developers. Total Merchant Services also provides a Free EMV and NFC compliant terminal to each merchant, eliminating a costly upgrade. Furthermore, Total Merchant Services' leading revenue share program enables software development companies to make money when their customers process transactions using Groovv SDK.
"Groovv SDK is easy to implement and frees developers to spend their time and energy building business-growing software features instead of worrying about the nuts and bolts of processing payments," said Joe Kaplan, CEO of Total Merchant Services. "We remove the need for software to go through the costly and time-consuming EMV certification process, and for developers to comply with PCI data breach and other enhanced security standards."
The Groovv SDK has already proven itself in the field after Total Merchant Services last year launched its integrated payment solution for ISVs, creating a unique value proposition in the industry by combining a free EMV & NFC terminal, an easy to implement SDK, and a generous revenue share plan for software partners. Groovv SDK has made in-roads into several markets. After first piloting with the optometry industry, Total Merchant Services has now expanded to physician and dental practice management systems as well as point of sale providers in other industries.
"Since it places PCI and EMV compliance out of scope, Groovv SDK saved us time and money that would have been required to integrate payments with our software," said Adam Thomas, Manager of certified partners for Eyefinity. "Groovv SDK is easy to implement, and now our optometrists have a fully compliant, affordable payment solution that seamlessly integrates with their payment workflow, eliminating double data entry and saving them time."
