Total Beverage Solution Reunites Texas Brewer With Iconic Family Trademark
Celis brand to return to roots as family brewery reopens in Austin
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C., Feb. 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Confirming an earlier release today, Total Beverage Solution (TBS) is pleased to announce they have sold the Celis trademark to Christine Celis, reuniting the family with the brand.
Christine's father, Pierre Celis, is known throughout the brewing world for revitalizing the Belgian wit bier style in the 1960's and introducing the same style to American craft consumers in the 1990's. The brand has had several owners since its establishment in Austin, TX, with TBS acquiring the brand in 2014. TBS purchased Celis Beer in an effort to preserve and revitalize the iconic brand. Today, TBS is delighted to pass on this role to the brand's namesake.
With a portfolio of revered brands, including the world's oldest brewery, Weihenstephan, TBS prides itself on introducing U.S. consumers to diverse breweries, wineries and distilleries with long histories of tradition and quality. Upon learning of the Celis trademark available for sale, CEO Dave Pardus knew this was an iconic brand that could be restored to greatness. "Two years later, and with Christine getting her facility and team assembled, it was the right thing to do," said Pardus. "Christine will have the intangible passion we could not create and thus it was an easy decision to make the brand available to her."
