IRVINE, Calif., March 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division (Toshiba — www.telecom.toshiba.com) today announced two new free, built-in applications with the IPedge® R1.7.1 upgrade. Now available are: Audio Conference for quick, on-demand conferences; and Call Accounting, enabling users to generate call activity reports right from the system without external hardware.
"Toshiba takes user productivity to the next level with the latest IPedge software release, delivering two new built-in applications: Audio Conference and Call Accounting," said Brian Metherell, vice president and general manager of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division. "Combined with the comprehensive IPedge applications already embedded in the software, these two additional applications deliver a highly integrated, cost-effective communications solution."
Toshiba's Meet-Me Conference and Call Accounting applications join the multiple IPedge applications that already reside on a single Linux-based server, including call processing, unified messaging, unified communications, mobility and centralized administration, along with optional contact center software and reporting. By providing multiple applications on a single server, Toshiba's IPedge delivers a more efficient use of hardware and computing resources.
Built-in "Meet-Me" Audio Conference Application
With Toshiba's new built-in "Meet-Me" Audio Conference application, every user has a "meet-me" conference room for quick, on-demand meet-me audio conferencing. Designed for ease-of-use, users simply set up a conference by dialing into their IPedge messaging mailbox and assigning PIN numbers that can be sent out to all participants invited to the conference.
Four (4) audio channel licenses are included free. Additional channels are license-activated up to the maximum capacity, which depends on the server model (IPedge EP, EC or EM) and type (IPedge Branded or IPedge Virtual). For the IPedge Virtual Server, the conference capacities are: EP (20 channels), EC (100 channels) and EM (200 channels).
Built-in Call Accounting Application
With IPedge R1.7.1, Toshiba's Call Accounting application is built-in as a standard feature. No additional license is required, and no external hardware or software is needed to generate call activity reports.
System administrators configure the application from Toshiba's Enterprise Manager system management tool. Features include:
- Selection of specific filters by which reports are generated and saved automatically. Data can be extracted by call type, station number, specific trunk or line groups, Caller ID, account code, call duration, time or date and/or network ID, among other criteria.
- Choice of report types, including summary and more detailed reports.
- Ability to handle call costing through rate tables for specific area codes, international calls and toll-free calls, which can be created from Enterprise Manager or imported from a CSV file.
- Generation of notifications for emergency calls (i.e., 911), inbound calls from a specified caller, and/or outbound calls with a specific prefix code, such as international calls to the UK. The system administrator will be notified by email as soon as the number is dialed, as well as once the call has ended.
