Torrance Marriott South Bay To Host 18th Annual Black History Celebration

TORRANCE, Calif., Feb. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Honoring National African-American History Month, Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Los Angeles African-American Chamber of Commerce will host the 18th annual Black History Celebration at Torrance Marriott South Bay on Feb. 26, 2015.
Inspiring the next generation, Black History Month is an annual celebration recognizing the central role of African-Americans in U.S. history and their achievements. Paying their respects to this important February tradition, one of the premier hotels in Torrance, CA will help host the Black History Celebration, beginning with a vendor walkway from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m., with registration at 11 a.m. The official luncheon and program are expected to begin at noon and run until 2 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person or $600 for a table of 10 with preferred assigned seats. In addition to hosting, Torrance Marriott South Bay has reserved a table for 10 of its associates.
Honorees and speakers at the event at the South Bay hotel will include Robin Petgrave with Celebrity Helicopters; Clarence Ulrich from The Drifters; Ted Lange from the TV show "The Love Boat;" Judge Mablean Ephriam from TV's "Divorce Court;" A.C. Green, former Los Angeles Laker and the founder of A.C. Green Youth Foundation; and James Harris, a student at California State University, Dominguez Hills.
Having recently celebrated its 100th year anniversary, the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce looks forward to its role in this event that meets its mission of creating a strong economy, providing networking opportunities, supporting the interests of business before government, taking political action and promoting the community.
Co-hosting the event, the Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce was established in 1991 with the vision to create an organization that would serve as an advocate for African-American-owned business enterprises, promoting their growth and expansion in the international arena.
