PORTLAND, Ore., Jan. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Torkzadeh Law Firm (TorkLaw) is currently providing free legal consultations to victims and families of those who have been impacted by the tour bus crash in Oregon. Korean speaking attorney Ted Shin is available 24/7.
On Sunday, December 30, 2012 at around 10:00am, a tour bus carrying 47 passengers crashed in Oregon leaving nine dead and nearly all other passengers injured.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with all involved in the tour bus crash in Oregon on Sunday. Our firm is providing free legal consultations to those who have questions regarding their legal rights," said Attorney Ted Shin, who is Korean speaking and Of Counsel to the law firm.
"During these trying times, it is important for those who are not familiar with the American civil justice system to know what their rights are and how they should protect themselves and their families," said Attorney Shin, who was born in Korea and educated and trained in the US as a lawyer.
The bus, operated by Vancouver-based Mi Joo Tour and Travel, was returning after a tour to Las Vegas. The crash occurred on long stretch of Interstate 84 in the Blue Mountains, just east of Pendleton and Portland. It has been reported that the driver of the bus lost control and crashed through a guardrail and fell nearly 100 feet down a hill.
"The most important decision one can make after such a catastrophic bus crash is to hire the right law firm to protect them. As a Korean-American lawyer, I understand first-hand how it can be difficult to navigate and understand the rather complex process that many of these passengers will be facing. This tragic incident is very personal to me and we look forward to assisting the passengers and helping them put the pieces of their lives back together," said Attorney Shin.
Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board arrived on the scene and will continue to remain on the scene to work with local authorities in the investigation into the causes of this tragic incident.
"Many of the passengers were Korean and didn't speak much English. We are told that the investigation has been slowed due to a language barrier. As a Korean-speaking lawyer, our firm is offering free consultations to victims and families of those who were in the crash," said Attorney Shin, who is a Korean-American lawyer with TorkLaw.
