MCKINNEY, Texas, May 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Torchmark Corporation (NYSE: TMK) held its annual college scholarship program for high school seniors in McKinney, Texas, on Tues., May 5, 2015, at McKinney Boyd High School. Torchmark Chief Administrative Officer, Vern Herbel, presented four, $1,000 scholarships to this year's recipients: Acacia Maelynn Browne, Emily Anne Disney, Preston Rock Oberlender, and Lauren Blakeley Preston.
The Torchmark Scholarship Committee selected students who reside in McKinney, Texas, and met designated criteria. Scholarships were awarded to students based on overall financial need, motivation to succeed, academic achievements, community service, responsibility, dependability, trustworthiness, and tolerance of others as noted or illustrated in recommendations received.
