DALLAS, April 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Top10MD is pleased to announce Dallas Orthopedic Surgeon and Shoulder Specialist Wayne Burkhead, MD, has been appointed Medical Advisor. Dr. Burkhead served as Consultant Shoulder Surgeon to the Dallas Cowboys from 1990 until 1998 under head team physician Robert Vandermeer. Dr. Burkhead will contribute to the Top10MD Medical Advisory Board as the company expands across the country.

He was selected Presidential Guest Lecturer of the Japanese Shoulder Society in 1991 and was a Traveling Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1997. In 2007, Dr. Burkhead was elected and served as President of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons.

Dr. Burkhead is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a member and past President of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons. He also serves as Clinical Professor of Orthopaedics at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School.
