The MIT Enterprise Forum, in collaboration with the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute, will present "Creating Value Through Sustainability," a live forum, satellite broadcast, and worldwide webcast on April 20. The event falls just two days before the 40th anniversary of Earth Day and in the middle of what many around the country call "Earth Week."
The forum will feature an impressive lineup of high-profile speakers, including:
- Matt Kistler, Senior Vice President, Sustainability, Walmart (keynote);
- Eric Hespenheide, Global Leader, Climate Change and Sustainability, Audit and Enterprise Risk Services, Deloitte & Touche LLP;
- Paul Murray, Director of Environmental Safety and Sustainability, Herman Miller, Inc.; and
- James Modak, Chief Financial Officer, Suniva, Inc.
Topics to be addressed include how to profitably implement sustainability strategy into everyday business decisions; how to create financial value while meeting societal and environmental needs; and how to determine key sustainability drivers that impact business.
"In order to stay competitive in today's global marketplace, businesses large and small must focus on the triple bottom line: people, planet, and profit," says Henning Bloech, executive director of GEI. "We are proud to sponsor this forum as an educational tool for entrepreneurs and corporate executives who understand that sustainability and financial success go hand-in-hand."
The event is open to the public. Tickets are $25 for members; $35 for non-members in advance or $45 at the door. For student members, tickets are $10 and $15 for non-student members. The satellite broadcast and worldwide webcast are available at no charge.
