Top RN to BSN Publishes 50 Best Accelerated BSN Programs in the United States
RALEIGH, N.C., May 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Top RN to BSN (www.toprntobsn.com), a leading resource for current and prospective nursing students, has published the 50 Best Accelerated BSN Programs in the United States. The ranking can be viewed at http://www.toprntobsn.com/best-accelerated-bsn-programs-2016/.
For this ranking, only schools fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) were considered. Programs were then ranked on the factors which matter most to students: cost, graduation rates, and admission selectivity. Each of these measures--derived from the National Center for Education Statistics published by the U.S. Department of Education--were given equal weight. The University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, ranked first with Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, coming in second, and the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, following in third place. "In today's challenging job market, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) accelerated program allows anyone with a bachelor's degree the ability to make a relatively quick transition to a profession that offers a good salary, flexibility, and meaningful work," says Tim Otto, site editor. "Colleges are finding ways to recognize the skills that students already have from other jobs, education, and life experiences. They are responding to a demand for intensive classes that quickly teach the critical skills for a transition to professional nursing practice. This ranking will help people who already have a bachelor's degree find the college that will meet their needs and help them fulfill their aspirations."
