WASHINGTON, March 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- MWW Public Relations (www.mww.com) announced today that Paul Tencher has joined MWW as senior vice president, national director of public affairs and deputy director of its Washington, D.C. office. After nearly a decade of successfully managing Democratic campaigns at all levels across the country, Tencher brings significant strategic skills as he assumes leadership of the agency's national public affairs practice.
In his role, Tencher will strengthen MWW's expanding national public affairs practice, guiding clients through influencer engagement strategies to advance new market opportunities. Tencher will also help manage the operations and strategy of the Washington DC office as it continues on the path of rapid growth.
"If you're in politics, you know the name Paul Tencher. Paul's extraordinary management style has earned him the respect of politicos on both sides of the aisle, and he has a keen ability to discern public opinion that will be a tremendous asset in growing our public affairs practice," said Michael Kempner, president and CEO of MWW. "His deep campaign experience adds unique insights that will enhance our work for our clients across the country."
Tencher has held a variety of campaign management roles in politics throughout the country, including New Jersey, Rhode Island, Ohio, Missouri, Indiana and Michigan. Most recently, Tencher led a come-from-behind victory for Michigan Senator Gary Peters, and was also responsible for the 2012 upset win of Senator Joe Donnelly in deep red Indiana. He is just one of a handful of political operatives on either side to manage and win back-to-back U.S. Senate races.
In addition to managing Peters and Donnelly's campaigns, Tencher also served as Campaigns Director of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, where he focused on early candidate recruitment and campaign management of the seven states won by Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential election. In 2010, he managed the field efforts for DGA Chairman and Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin. Additionally, Tencher worked as a strategic adviser to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences during the 2013 Academy Awards.
Tencher, a Rhode Island native, is a graduate of Seton Hall University where he received a bachelor's degree in communication.
