WASHINGTON, April 16, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Gabe Neville, a senior congressional staffer with nearly two decades of experience working for Pennsylvania Republican Rep. Joe Pitts, is joining Covington's global public policy & government affairs practice on May 4.

Mr. Neville started out as a campaign manager for Rep. Pitts in 1995 and worked his way up through the ranks to become his chief of staff in 2003. In that role, he advised the congressman on a wide range of issues, with special attention to the range of energy and health care issues that come before the House Energy and Commerce Committee. The congressman chairs the Energy and Commerce Committee's Subcommittee on Health.
The House Energy and Commerce's Health Subcommittee oversees a wide range of government health programs and issues, including public health; hospital construction; mental health and research; biomedical programs and health protection in general, including public and private health insurance; food and drugs; and drug abuse.
As a senior chief of staff for one of the Republican party's most senior members, Mr. Neville also brings in-depth knowledge about a wide-range of issues pending in Congress, including telecommunications, agriculture and human rights. Mr. Neville has helped lead meetings of the Values Action Team, a group created by Republican House Leadership to maintain cooperation with conservative congressmen and activist groups.

He will advise clients in Europe, China, Latin America, Africa, India and the Middle East.
