Top authors celebrated at 2015 Indiana Authors Award
INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Four authors with Indiana ties were honored at this weekend's 2015 Eugene & Marilyn Glick Indiana Authors Award Dinner. Marianne Boruch was recognized as the National Author Winner, Adrian Matejka was recognized as the Regional Author Winner and Clifford Garstang was announced as the Emerging Author Winner from a pool of three finalists. Plus, well-known Indianapolis poet Mari Evans became only the second author to be recognized as the Lifetime Achievement Honoree.

Each Indiana Authors Award winner receives a cash prize and also selects an Indiana public library to receive a $2,500 grant from the Library Foundation. Since the Award's inception in 2009, selected authors have won a total of $157,500, and the authors' hometown libraries have received $57,500 in grants.
Indiana Authors Award nominations were submitted in early spring 2015. Any published writer born in Indiana or who has lived in Indiana for at least five years was eligible. An eight-member, statewide Award Panel selected the winners.
Marianne Boruch: National Author Award Winner - $10,000 prize. A writer whose entire body of work is known and read throughout the country.
Adrian Matejka: Regional Author Award Winner - $7,500 prize. A writer who is well-known and respected throughout Indiana and is evaluated on his/her entire body of work.
Clifford Garstang: Emerging Author Award Winner - $5,000 prize. A writer who has published no more than two books during his/her lifetime. Title(s) must have been published within the last 10 years.
Mari Evans: Lifetime Achievement Honoree - For only the second time ever, the award panel for the Indiana Authors Award chose to select an author whose work has exemplified great achievement over several decades.
