Top Aerospace and Defense Programs and Leaders Honored at Aviation Week Program Excellence Awards Ceremony
Award winners include defense, space and security system integrators
PHOENIX, Nov. 3, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Aviation Week has named the winners of the 2010 Program Excellence Awards, identifying seven aerospace and defense (A&D) programs at Boeing, General Atomics, Honeywell, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon as the leaders in their fields. Sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers, the awards were announced at a luncheon on Nov. 2 during the Aviation Week A&D Programs Conference in Phoenix.
"These Program Excellence Award winners are accelerating progress and improving program performance across the A&D industry," said Greg Hamilton, president of Aviation Week. "Their outstanding leadership and creative innovations have been applied to solving society's toughest problems in the face of shrinking budgets and unknown future geopolitical issues."

Winners were selected based on value, leadership, performance and other criteria. This year, evaluators considered 67 programs and selected three winning programs and four finalists, as follows.

- Winner, System Level Research & Development/SDD – Boeing Defense Space & Security/Phantom Works X-51A Scramjet Engine Demonstrator-WaveRider, Joseph Vogel, Director of Hypersonics, and George Thum Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne
- Finalist, Sub-system Production & Sustainment - Northrop Grumman Litening, Craig Boyd, Director-Targeting
- Finalist, System Level Production & Sustainment - Raytheon THULE Upgraded Early Warning Radar Program, Pamela Adams and William Regan, Program Managers
