ToolsGroup Tops the Leaders Quadrant in Nucleus Research's Inaugural Inventory Optimization Value Matrix
Leaders embrace machine learning to optimize complex supply chains
BOSTON, Jan. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- ToolsGroup announced today that it took the top position in the "Leaders" quadrant of Nucleus Research's first Inventory Optimization Value Matrix, evaluating software vendors in this space. One of the top trends identified in the research was that vendors in the Leaders quadrant are leveraging machine learning technology to optimize complex supply chains for large stock holdings and multiple stocking locations. James Cooke, Principal Analyst, Supply Chain at Nucleus Research, a 30 year supply chain veteran, led the research. He commented, "ToolsGroup is ahead of the vendor pack in inventory optimization with its use of machine learning to fine tune stock holdings."
The H1 2015 matrix shows that vendors applying machine intelligence to their solutions can more quickly identify emerging patterns and fix supply chain issues in near real-time, as they arise. Integrated analytics is another trend, enabling advanced demand signals such as point of sales data as the replenishment input rather than sales orders.
Nucleus Research positioned sixteen vendors offering solutions (on-premise and cloud) in its matrix by analyzing end-user experiences relating to software usability and functionality. The matrix is divided into four quadrants: Leaders, Experts, Facilitators, and Core Providers.
Leaders are vendors that Nucleus Research rates as likely to deliver the greatest potential returns from investments (ROI) to their customers. Leaders' comprehensive product offerings are rated as the most suitable for enabling large-scale application deployments. And leaders are recognized for fast user adoption and deployment, continually developing and investing in new areas like predictive analytics.
ToolsGroup's CEO Joseph Shamir commented, "As we make our debut into Nucleus Research's Inventory Optimization Value Matrix, we're naturally thrilled to be placed in the top position of the Leaders quadrant, particularly since the research most heavily weights our customers' experiences and return on investment."
