Tony Morelli Joins Outland Energy Services to Lead Large Corrective & Heavy Lift Service Offerings
CANBY, Minn., April 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Outland Energy Services, an independent services provider in the North American wind industry, announced today that industry veteran Tony Morelli has joined Outland to lead the company's large corrective and heavy lift service offerings. These new service offerings improve upon the industry's current methods by offering single-source solutions to the large corrective and heavy lift needs of both owners and manufacturers. Under Morelli's leadership, Outland offers complete project management, including specialized labor and supervision, site level management of risk and safety, lift planning, and specialized tooling.
Morelli has nearly a decade of wind industry experience, specifically in managing heavy-lift, rigging, and construction projects. He has solved heavy-lift challenges across the country and led a specialty rigging project recognized as national "Rigging Job of the Year" by the Specialized Carriers and Rigging Association. Morelli will be based at Outland's office in Oklahoma, where he resides with his wife and their two sons.
"For much of our industry, the only viable option for large correctives has required the engagement of several contractors and suppliers. This consistently results in unnecessary turbine downtime and exposes projects to risk cost overruns due to scope gaps and scheduling inefficiencies. Our 'one-stop shop' approach addresses these issues through a higher quality solution at a lower overall cost and risk. Our quickly growing client list seems to validate this belief," said Morelli. "The OES business platform and team of dedicated technicians provide a strong position from which to solve problems like these. I look forward to being part of this team, emulating its values, and providing leadership as Outland's Large Corrective Manager."
"Tony Morelli brings to Outland the insight and expertise needed in heavy lifting and large corrective offerings," said Jeremy Krug, Outland's Director of Operations. "Wind asset owners expect a seasoned market leader and we are thrilled to be able to exceed those expectations with Morelli's caliber of work."
"Tony Morelli's industry experience and long-term commitment to the construction market adds more strength to our already solid base of wind expertise," said Steve Scott, President and COO of Outland Energy Services. "Being a heavy lift expert requires much more than the strength to replace a 30,000 lb. component located 80 meters above ground level. O&M companies with a heavy lift operation must have the knowledge and integrated expertise from what Outland calls 'Start-to-Finish.' They must remove a turbine from service, replace components, and return a turbine back safely and efficiently all while minimizing lost production. We are excited to have Tony Morelli lead our large corrective and heavy lifting operation."
