Tonight's Mega Millions Jackpot Rises to $522 Million on Brisk Sales
MIDDLETOWN, Pa., July 24, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Another day, another boost in the Mega Millions® jackpot: tonight's grand prize was increased today to a $522 million annuity value or a $308.1 million cash prize, thanks to continued strong ticket sales.
On Monday, the jackpot was raised to a $512 million annuity or $303 million cash. After the Friday, July 20, drawing, the jackpot had rolled to a $493 million annuity value or $296 million cash. For that drawing, a Pennsylvania Lottery Mega Millions ticket worth $1 million was sold at a Giant Food Store in Aston, Delaware County.
This jackpot has been growing since a $142 million prize was won in Ohio on May 4, 2018.
Pennsylvania has sold two jackpot-winning Mega Millions tickets since joining the game in 2010:
- The first was a $149 million annuity value prize for the May 20, 2014, drawing. A Pittsburgh man claimed the cash prize of $86.7 million.
- The second was a $91.8 million annuity value jackpot for the July 21, 2015, drawing. The $68.8 million cash prize was claimed by a Virginia man.
In Pennsylvania, Mega Millions tickets are sold until 9:59 p.m. on drawing nights. A ticket costs $2.
