TONIGHT: Families to Seek School Scholarships at National School Choice Week Event (1/25/2011)
200 Expected to Attend Scholarship Application Distribution on Allegheny Avenue
PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Citizens from across the Philadelphia area who seek private scholarships to send their children to better schools will gather for a special event tonight, January 25, 2011. The 9th Annual Scholarship Application Distribution, coordinated by Faith First Educational Assistance Corporation, is expected to attract more than 200 families.
Dr. Alberta C. Wilson (CEO/Founder of Faith First, also host of the radio broadcast, "Brunch with Dr. Wilson") will speak at the event and help inform parents about their educational options. At the event, a limited number of scholarship applications will be distributed on a "first-come, first-served" basis.
The event will take place at 6:30 pm at the Evangelistic Gospel Crusade Church at 2822-46 West Allegheny Avenue in Philadelphia.
The event is planned in coordination with National School Choice Week, January 23-29, 2011, which will shine an unprecedented spotlight on the need to dramatically improve educational outcomes for children and will highlight the benefits of school choice programs. Tens of thousands of people are expected to participate in events across the country during the week, which is being organized by more than 150 national and state groups.
