Tonara Partners With Alfred Music To Build The World's Largest Educational Digital Sheet Music Library For Piano App, Wolfie
Music learning iPad app, Wolfie for Piano, will now include the best methods from Alfred Music, enhancing the experience of learning music in a transformative new way
NEW YORK, Dec. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Tonara (www.tonara.com), the leading music technology company, announced today a partnership with Alfred Music, the world's largest educational music publisher, to bring the world's top piano pedagogy to the Wolfie iPad app (http://tonara.com/wolfie-app/). The closure of the deal provides teachers and students with access to an expanded music learning catalog, which now includes Alfred's Premier Piano Course and Alfred's Basic Piano Library as well as world-renowned traditional and contemporary scores that have been adapted to every skill level in piano instruction.
Tonara's Wolfie app for piano reproduces the familiar experience of paper sheet music on the iPad by using digitization technology to create interactive scores that students can play along to both in real-time and alongside computerized renditions of songs and pieces. With unique features such as the app's built-in cursor which highlights the student's progress note-by-note, anyone can use Wolfie to learn how to better decipher music and develop sight reading skills and rhythm.
"Partnering with Alfred Music allows us to deliver its massively popular methods to the digital generation," said Guy Bauman, CEO of Tonara Ltd. "Together, we are bringing the music-learning experience into the modern age with contemporary technology that speaks to younger musicians. We're excited to work alongside Alfred Music to offer young pianists the best educational tools and content from Sony, EMI, Warner, Schott and others, for practicing and learning how to play."
The Wolfie app is the ultimate iPad companion for modern music students, teachers, and parents. Wolfie improves communication between teacher and student, making practice time more productive and maximizes what's learned with an instructor in lessons. Alfred Music's industry-leading teaching methods together with Wolfie's digitization technology will transform the learning experience for young pianists, allowing them an easy and more enjoyable way of establishing technical mastery of musical works.
"We share Tonara's passion for bringing music to more people around the world," said E. L. Lancaster, Senior Vice President and Keyboard Editor-in-Chief at Alfred Music. "This partnership represents our shared commitment to harness the creative potential of technology to democratize the joy of learning music."
In addition to instructional materials, music from Bach, Mozart and Gershwin to Pink Floyd and Beyonce have never been easier for young pianists to play at all levels.
Tonara also released an update to its interactive piano practicing iPad app, Wolfie, introducing support for single-hand accompaniment in the app's Enhanced Practice and Play Along modes, allowing students to practice or play with one hand while Wolfie plays the other. Through Tonara's partnership with Alfred Music, Wolfie's interactive sheet music catalog received an infusion of new material from Alfred's Premier Piano Course. In time for the holidays, young pianists can now learn Christmas favorites like Jingle Bells, Little Drummer Boy, Frosty the Snowman, Silent Night, Joy to the World and more.
