MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR KIDS AND FAMILIES IN DETROIT
Join a socially-powered project that brings goodness to kids and families in Detroit. With a $25,000 donation to nonprofit Eight Mile Boulevard Association and with consumer participation online, Tom's of Maine will renovate distressed Knudsen Park near historic Eight Mile Road. Tom's of Maine is asking the public to root for change and show nationwide support for Detroit with a simple social action to help decide what new items go into the park, such as a picnic area, benches, a play car, a swing set, public art or basketball court updates. Make your click count at www.50StatesforGood.com and follow our progress at Twitter.com/TomsofMaine and Facebook.com/TomsofMaine for regular updates.
"Our partnership with Tom's of Maine and the community embodies the way we pursue progress through collaboration," said Jordan Twardy, Eight Mile Boulevard Association executive director. "Together, we've attracted new interest, energy and commitment to revitalize and preserve this highly symbolic Detroit park. We are proud to join with Tom's and breathe new life into a space where Detroiters of all ages can gather with pride."
