Tomorrow the 13th Comandatuba Forum begins

SAO PAULO, April 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Tomorrow, May 1st, the 13th edition of the FORUM DE COMANDATUBA [Comandatuba Forum] begins, bringing together government officials, businessmen and prominent personalities in support of a socio-economic development agenda for Brazil. Organized by LIDE – Grupo de Lideres Empresariais [Group of Business Leaders], the Forum will be taking place from May 1st to May 4th at the Hotel Transamerica Ilha de Comandatuba, in the state of Bahia. Addressing the central issue of An agenda for the development of Brazil, the event will be attended by 320 political and business leaders.

The prospective candidates for the presidency of the Republic, Senator Aecio Neves, former Governor of Pernambuco, Eduardo Campos, and VP candidate Marina Silva, will take part in the debates at Comandatuba.  LIDE accounts for 52% of the private GDP of Brazil, and nearly 30% of this total will be gathered in Bahia. "THE COMANDATUBA FORUM will provide the opportunity for prospective candidates to present their proposals at a time when businessmen are anxious for new information that will enable them to assess the situation and make decisions," says Joao Doria Jr., founder and world president of LIDE.

On May 2, the LIDE Seminar will take place, moderated by Joao Doria Jr., and bringing together representatives of all areas of economic activity, both public and private, as well as prominent personalities and journalists, to discuss a possible and positive agenda of economic growth and development for Brazil.

During the Forum, CEOs who contribute important actions for the development of the country are to receive the 2014 LIDE AWARD. Business executive Abilio Diniz, chairman of the Board of Directors of BRF, will be the Special Honoree of the year. The award recipients, chosen by a vote of LIDE's Executive Committee, are also classified in nine further categories: Business Leader of the Year, Personality of the Year, Personality of Industry, Personality of Innovation, Personality of Social Responsibility, Personality of Sustainability, Personality of Commerce, Personality of the Services Sector and Personality of Public Administration.
