Tommy Emmanuel and the Australian All-Star Band Featuring Phil Emmanuel
U.S. Tour throughout May 2011
NASHVILLE, Tenn., March 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Virtuoso guitarist Tommy Emmanuel left Australia nearly fifteen years ago to tour the world relentlessly as a solo guitarist. What most outside Australia don't know is that his career began with his older brother Phil Emmanuel, an equally talented guitarist, back when Tommy was 4 years old and Phil was 7. They played together in various configurations until their late 20s at which point Tommy started his own band with whom he toured and recorded, winning Gold and Platinum albums and major awards in Australia throughout the nineties.
Now Tommy is bringing the rest of the world up-to-date with his past and has invited his brother and his band – the Australian All-Star Band – to celebrate 50 years of performing with a tour of select cities in the United States throughout May 2011. Tommy and Phil will both play electric and acoustic guitar performing a range of music from past to present. This dynamic show premiered in Australia over December 2010 and January 2011, playing to sold-out crowds all over the country.
The Australian All-Star Band, comprised of music director and keyboardist Ashley Crick, electric guitarist Simon Hosford, bassist Rob Little, and drummer Kevin Murphy, went from their work with Tommy to play in some of the great bands and shows presented in Australia over the last 15 years. They are all highly acclaimed and accomplished players who know Tommy and his music like the backs of their hands.
This once-in-a-lifetime show is sure to dazzle longtime Emmanuel fans and newcomers alike.
