In his role as Chief Architect for Strategy and Solutions Development, Woteki will lead the effort to develop Acentia's Centers of Excellence in support of the mission-critical needs of its customers. In this position, he will also help to sharpen the company's focus and solidify its position in healthcare information technology, as well identify and integrate new technologies into the company's key customer solutions offerings.
"Earlier this year we announced a new brand identity – Acentia – to reflect our commitment to solving complex mission-critical challenges faced by our customers on programs of national significance," said Acentia CEO Todd Stottlemyer. "Adding Tom to the team enhances our ability to execute on this commitment, as his extensive career in the government, private, and healthcare sectors is distinguished by an ability to develop and manage innovative large-scale information technology programs. We believe his expertise will significantly benefit Acentia and, most importantly, our customers."
Prior to joining Acentia, Woteki was Director and General Manager of Cisco's Healthcare Solutions business unit, where he was responsible for the development of Cisco's portfolio of healthcare solutions, notably HealthPresence – Cisco's innovative telemedicine offering. Before Cisco, Woteki was an executive in a division of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems where he managed a portfolio of large-scale systems integration and e-business solutions programs for diverse clients. His experiences at Northrop include leading the development of the Defense Travel System and GovTrip for the DoD and GSA, respectively.
Before Northrop, Woteki was CIO and Senior Vice-President of the American Red Cross (ARC) responsible for its enterprise information technology and telecommunications needs nationwide. He led the consolidation and reorganization of eight disparate IT organizations and data centers. Prior to ARC, Woteki was Director of Worldwide Clinical Data Systems at Merck Research Labs, the R&D division of Merck Pharmaceuticals. Earlier in his career, Woteki served as Director at BDM International, a leading systems integration and engineering company. There he was the technical lead and architect on the winning proposal for the Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis and Reporting (EDGAR) program with the SEC, one of the Federal Government's first e-government initiatives. Today, information and reporting for all publically traded companies is managed through the EDGAR system. Woteki introduced a number of technical innovations that were the basis of this original EDGAR and its successors.
"Acentia represents a unique opportunity to join a company that does not shy away from confronting the nation's boldest challenges, and to be part of a team focused on using analytics to build trusted relationships with government and commercial customers," said Woteki. "I look forward to lending my experience managing and integration technology solutions for both public and private sector organizations, and to enable Acentia to continue its aggressive expansion plans."
