IRVINE, Calif., Dec. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- University of California, Irvine Extension announces the election of Tom Pokladowski, director of the Law & Finance unit at UC Irvine Extension, as the secretary for the American Association for Paralegal Education (AAfPE). During his three-year term, Pokladowski will also act as a voting member of the board of directors.

Founded in 1981, AAfPE promotes quality paralegal education, develops educational standards and encourages professional growth, in order to prepare graduates to perform a significant role in the delivery of legal services. AAfPE aims to provide a forum for professional improvement for paralegal educators, as well as assistance and consultation to institutions, educators and employers. It promotes research and the dissemination of information on the paralegal profession and cooperates with the American Bar Association and other institutions to develop goals and processes for programs.
Pokladowski oversees and guides the promotion and development of current legal, financial, and leadership programs and curriculum at UC Irvine Extension. He is admitted to practice law in the State of California and has experience in litigating contract and business disputes. Pokladowski earned his law degree from Chapman University School of Law, and he is a member of the Orange County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He also serves on the NALA Certifying Board.
