MARION, N.C., Oct. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Tom Johnson Camping Center today announced a new partnership with Shriners International and Oasis Shriners of Charlotte to raise funds for the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Tom Johnson Camping Center will utilize a number of methods to raise money for Shriners Hospitals for Children.

"Shriners Hospitals for Children is an institution that helps thousands of children each year for free and we are excited to be assisting in those efforts," said Gary Stroud, Vice President, Tom Johnson Camping Center. "Not only does Shriners Hospitals for Children care for children they are also on the forefront of medicine in many areas including burn treatment, orthopedics, spinal cord injuries and more."
Under the agreement Tom Johnson Camping Center will donate a portion of the proceeds from every RV purchased by a Shriner back to the Shriners Hospitals for Children. In addition, Tom Johnson Camping Center will donate a portion of a month's sales proceeds to Shriners Hospitals for Children and provide for space in the company's booths at RV tradeshows to promote the work being done at the hospitals.

Tom Johnson Camping Center philanthropic efforts this year have included donating RVs to Extreme Makeover: Home Edition for use by the designers and First Lady Michelle Obama. For ten years Tom Johnson Camping Center has hosted the Relay for Life, has supported the South Mountain Children's Home raising funds and serving on the Board of Directors and various employees have supported their local community in roles with the volunteer firefighter organizations. In 2010 Tom Johnson Camping Center raised over $12,000 for the Susan G. Komen For the Cure foundation and during 2011 participated in various charity ride and community fundraisers.
