Tom Holt Joins Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon as Director of Legislative and Regulatory Affairs

PORTLAND, Ore., Jan. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon President Jared Short is proud to announce the selection of Tom Holt to Director of Legislative and Regulatory Affairs in Oregon. In this role, Holt will focus on building relationships with legislators and community leaders and lead Regence's efforts to collaborate with stakeholders on solutions for transforming health care.

Holt has more than 20 years of experience developing public policy, lobbying, developing public relations strategies and working as a newspaper editor. Notably, he helped create the Oregon Patient Safety Commission, and most recently represented health and human services interests as a lobbyist before the Oregon State Legislature. Prior to that, he served as the Executive Director of the Oregon State Pharmacy Association and ran his own public relations consulting firm. Holt earned his Bachelor of Science degree in communication studies at Northwestern University.
