Tokalabs Emerges From Stealth Mode to Add Industry Veteran as VP Sales & Marketing

SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Tokalabs, creators of Software Defined Labs, has officially emerged from stealth mode with the release of the LaunchStation family of lab resource management appliances. Operating as a division of Allied Telesis, Tokalabs is led by Keith Andrews, general manager and long-time veteran of the QA industry.

The Tokalabs story began in 2013 when Allied Telesis' QA/Test team struggled to keep up with an ever-filling queue of test cases that needed to be automated. With an excessive reliance on manual and repetitive processes, release cycles continued to slip beyond acceptable timeframes.

By 2014, Allied Telesis spent more time re-wiring, configuring and waiting for resources to be released than it actually did on development and test. By leveraging its expertise in networking and advances in virtualization and SDN, Allied Telesis was able to carve out a revolutionary way to manage network resources, making lab automation incredibly simple.

In early 2016, Allied Telesis decided to incubate a new business unit dedicated to perfecting their software defined network management and automation solutions for both lab and production environments and Tokalabs was officially born.

With the official launch to market, Tokalabs has hired industry veteran, Kalen Kimm, to lead sales and marketing.  Kimm joins Tokalabs with 20 years of leadership experience at a variety of tech companies in the Silicon Valley. Most recently, he was part of the leadership team responsible for the expansion of LoadDynamiX (formerly SwiftTest), which subsequently merged with Virtual Instruments.
