Todd M. Schoon, CLU®, ChFC®, JD Elected Chairman of The American College Board of Trustees
BRYN MAWR, Pa., Jan. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/-- The American College announced today the election of Todd M. Schoon, CLU®, ChFC®, JD as Chairman of the institution's Board of Trustees. Schoon is the Executive Vice President - Agencies at Northwestern Mutual.

As Chairman, Schoon will preside at all the meetings of The American College's Board of Trustees. The Board has oversight responsibility for the affairs of The College, including the institution's management as well as the formulation and determination of institutional policies.
Schoon began his career with Northwestern Mutual in Chicago in 1988 as a financial representative and he spent his first four years building a thriving personal practice. After becoming an emerging leader in his office, he joined Northwestern Mutual's home office in Milwaukee, WI where he focused on Network Office growth and development.
In 1999, he was appointed Managing Partner in New York City. The Schoon Group grew from 40 financial representatives in 1999 to over 85 financial representatives by 2005. His Network Office consistently led the Eastern Region of the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network in productivity and persistency.
In addition to serving as Chair of The American College's Board of Trustees, Schoon is a member of The College's Trustee Executive Committee and Marketing Committee. He is also an ex-officio member of seven other Trustee committees.
Schoon is a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and a graduate of the University of Iowa where he earned a business degree in finance and a Juris Doctorate (J.D). He passed the Illinois Bar exam in 1989. In 1994 and 1996 he earned his Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) designations from The American College. The ChFC® is widely acknowledged as the highest standard of knowledge and trust for financial planning professionals.
