Why PhADR ? Actors recording on iPhones ® has proliferated.
Actors scatter all over the world after a feature film or television production wraps. Around 2013, Actors started recording their replacement dialog on cell phones. The biggest problem with these recordings was that the performance, pitch, and sync were usually disconnected from the original performance. Secondly, the recordings were compressed (degraded) and of poor quality.

Sound Editors and Re-Recording Mixers have gallantly tried to match these cell phone recordings with a myriad of tricks. Their common complaint was that they could make the poor recordings "work" if the Actor's performance had matched better.

The PhADR Solution.
PhADR provides the Actor with the sync and performance reference found in a traditional ADR studio, on an iPhone or iPad. The Actor can preview, record, and playback in order to perfect their performance. PhADR is now available on the Apple ® App Store.

PhADR is $19.99 per year for unlimited recordings. The Editor spots the ADR beeps and sends the Actor individual QuickTime movies via email, the Actor imports the movies into PhADR, Records ADR, and sends the WAVs back to the Editor.
