WASHINGTON, Feb. 25, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Maria Contreras-Sweet, Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and a member of President Obama's Cabinet, will host a roundtable discussion in Washington, DC on Thursday, February 25. The discussion will feature two panels and focus on empowering minority small business owners, with a particular focus on African-American small business owners.
Contreras-Sweet will highlight her work to improve access to capital for minority communities, as well as creating more programs and services that ensure SBA is reaching all entrepreneurs. The SBA is partnering with the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans, the National Urban League, the U.S. Black Chambers, and WeWork.
The panels will be live-streamed on the Administrator's Periscope and Facebook accounts. People can join the conversation via social media using the #SmallBizMatters hashtag on Twitter and Facebook.
