In recognition of National Everyday Matters Day, being celebrated Monday, April 16, visit www.EverydayMatters.com, become part of the movement to take action every day by making every minute of every day matter, and share the website with four friends in hope of offering the site as a resource and outlet for those coping with mental illness in their lives.

National Everyday Matters Day this year coincides with the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare's 42nd Mental Health and Addictions Conference, held April 15-17 in Chicago.
The first of what will be an annual event,National Everyday Matters Day was established to build awareness, help debunk stigma and encourage open and honest dialogue about mental health issues, as well as promoting the coordination of care between mental and physical health.
Netsmart, the leading provider of clinical solutions for health and human services organizations nationwide, is proud to sponsor the day and the promotions around it. Netsmart sponsored the launch of www.EverydayMatters.com earlier this year to provide an online community for those who are cause-connected, passionate and vision-driven about the opportunities in the behavioral and public health community. The site is an interactive, informational forum for clinicians, practitioners and consumers to share stories, celebrate successes, become enlightened and inspired, and debunk myths and stigma about mental health and public health issues in an effort to highlight the positive clinical and financial impacts provided by the behavioral and public health community.
"We're excited to celebrate National Everyday Matters Day," said Michael Valentine, chief executive officer, Netsmart. "Response to www.EverydayMatters.com has been strong, and we are encouraged by the conversations the site is generating, the information the community is sharing and the insight it is providing to all who visit. By uniting through a common movement, we can erase the stigma associated with discussing mental health issues and start a process that provides opportunities toward hope, healing and health."
To further support Everyday Matters, Netsmart is in the process of forming a 501(c)(3) called Everyday Matters Foundation. It will be initially funded with $25,000 from Netsmart. Organizations will be able to request funds for their cause or to help fund technology that advances the delivery of care.
"The National Council conference is an ideal location for us to launch National Everyday Matters Day," said Tom Herzog, executive vice president, Solutions and Operations, Netsmart. "The Council's mission is to champion opportunities that advance their members' ability to deliver proactive and holistic healthcare services. Through www.EverydayMatters.com, we want to show that health involves whole body wellness – both mental and physical health – so that holistic approach is the core of truly wanting to impact healthcare."
