LOS ANGELES, Feb. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Hong Kong is ready to celebrate the "Year of the Snake" in spectacular style with the 18th International Chinese New Year Night Parade – a permanent fixture on the international holiday calendar. Organized by Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), the iconic event will pay tribute to its theme "Happy @ HongKong" by offering spectators a thrilling, unique, and fun-filled procession during the first evening of the 2013 Chinese New Year (February 10th), found only in Asia's World City.

Hong Kong enjoys a reputation for its vibrant Chinese New Year Celebration, which has been ranked by Forbes as one of the World's 10 Best Events. With the International Chinese New Year Night Parade set to be one of this year's highlights, the exhilarating display will feature a total of 36 participating units from over 14 countries and regions – 13 intricately-designed floats, 11 local performance groups, and 12 international troupes of entertainers, nine of which will be participating in the legendary parade for the first time ever.
This year's international performers include an impressive roster of remarkable acts, such as stunts by Mainland China's Hangu Playing-cymbals Dragon-lion Artistic Troupe; folk dance groups from Bolivia and Japan; precision roller skaters from Estonia; and the NFL's Seattle Seahawks Cheerleaders, the Seattle Sea Gals.
To facilitate coverage of the event, HKTB has arranged satellite feeds (free to air) for use by television broadcasters worldwide.
