TMX Group Equity Financing Statistics - September 2012

TORONTO, Oct. 4, 2012 /CNW/ - TMX Group today announced its financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for September 2012.
Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed three new issuers in September 2012, which was down from August 2012 when there were 5 and down from the same month a year earlier when there were 20. Of the new listings, one was from the mining sector, one was from the real estate sector and one was from the financial services sector. Total financings raised was up 46% from the previous month and was up 32% from September 2011. The total number of financings was 42, which was up from 41 in August 2012, but was down from September 2011 when there were 56.
TSX Venture Exchange welcomed 7 new issuers in September 2012, which was down from the previous month when there were 12 and down from September 2011 when there were 15. Six of the new issuers were from the Capital Pool Company Program and one was from the mining sector. Total financings raised was up 18% compared to August 2012 and was up 21% compared to September 2011. There were 137 financings in September 2012 compared to 132 in August 2012 and 133 in September 2011.
