TORONTO, April 4, 2013 /CNW/ - TMX Group today announced its financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for March 2013.
Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed 15 new issuers in March 2013, compared to 3 the previous month and 8 in March 2012. The new listings include 7 exchange traded funds, 6 structured products and 1 oil and gas company. Total financings raised increased 195% from February 2013 and was up 34% year-over-year. The total number of financings was 73, up from 33 the previous month, but down from 88 in March 2012.
TSX Venture Exchange welcomed 6 new issuers in March 2013, compared to 3 the previous month and 23 in March 2012. The new listings include 5 from the Capital Pool Company Program and 1 mining company. Total financings raised increased 21% from February 2013, but was down 49% from March 2012. There were 147 financings in March 2013, compared to 146 the previous month and 195 the same month last year.
