TMX Group Equity Financing Statistics - July 2012

TORONTO, Aug. 7, 2012 /CNW/ - TMX Group today announced its financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for July 2012.
Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed 10 new listings in July 2012, which was on pace with the previous month when there were also 10, though down from July 2011 when there were 16. Of the new listings, 8 were exchange traded funds. Total financings raised was up 65% compared to July 2011 and was down 28% compared to June 2012. The total number of financings was 49, up from July 2011 when there were 33, and down from the previous month when there were 54.
TSX Venture Exchange listed 8 new issuers in July 2012, down from June 2012 when there were 9, and down from the same month a year earlier when there were 25. Of the new listings, 4 were from the mining sector. Total financings raised increased 16% compared to the previous month, and decreased 22% from July 2011. The total number of financings in July 2012 was 128, compared to 132 in June 2012 and 179 in July 2011.
