TMX Group Equity Financing Statistics - August 2012

TORONTO, Sept. 7, 2012 /CNW/ - TMX Group Limited today announced its financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for August 2012.
Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed 5 new issuers in August 2012, which was down from the previous month when there were 10, and also down from the same month a year earlier when there were 9. Of the new listings, two were exchange traded funds. Total financings raised was up 38% from August 2011 and down 3% from July 2012. The total number of financings was 41, up from August 2011 when there were 31 and down from July 2012 when there were 49.
TSX Venture Exchange welcomed 12 new issuers in August 2012, up from July 2012 when there were 8, but down from the same month a year earlier when there were 25. Six of the new listings were from the mining sector. There were two graduates to Toronto Stock Exchange in August 2012, which was on pace with both July 2012 and August 2011. Total financings raised was down 29% compared to July 2012 and down 36% from August 2011. The total number of financings was 132, up from July 2012 when there were 128 but down from August 2011 when there were 146.
