TMS to Distribute Frank Rich Essays From New York Magazine
CHICAGO, Feb. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Tribune Media Services (TMS) now brings the work of celebrated essayist for New York Magazine Frank Rich to an international audience in print and online. Each month, TMS will offer readers Rich's incomparable critical perspective on events in the political and cultural arenas.
Rich is one of the best-known and most heralded voices of our time. Prior to his debut in New York Magazine last July, Rich had been an op-ed columnist at the New York Times since 1994. He was previously the paper's chief drama critic, from 1980 to 1993, and also served as the front-page columnist for the Sunday "Arts & Leisure" section, a senior adviser to the paper's overall cultural-news report, and a senior writer for The New York Times Magazine. He has written for many other national publications. His books include Ghost Light: A Memoir and, most recently, The Greatest Story Ever Sold: The Decline and Fall of Truth From 9/11 to Katrina. Rich is a creative consultant to HBO, where he is also an executive producer of Veep, a comedy series set to premiere in April, and a documentary on Stephen Sondheim.
"TMS has had the distinct pleasure of working with New York Magazine for years," said Mary Elson, TMS managing editor. "We're pleased to extend our relationship to include the exceptional talents of Frank Rich. He has a legion of readers who know him as a brilliant writer and erudite observer of our times."
New York Magazine editor-in-chief Adam Moss said at the time of Rich's hire: "Frank Rich is a giant—a powerhouse critic of politics and culture, a rigorous thinker, a glorious stylist, a skeptic and optimist at the same time. There is just no one like him in American journalism."
His essays from New York Magazine will be offered in full-length and abridged versions to newspapers and electronic outlets through MCT International, the international content licensing agency for McClatchy-Tribune Information Services.
