TMA Webinar Focuses on Ethical Issues Swirling Around Revolving-Door Filings
CHICAGO, April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization filings sometimes beget "Chapter 22s," especially as troubled companies still face difficulty securing credit. The next Turnaround Management Association webinar examines the issue of repeat filings and potential conflicts of interest that can develop.
"Retention of Estate Professionals in Successor Cases" will take place from noon to 1 p.m. Eastern, Tuesday, April 13, 2010.
The webinar will investigate:
- Additional restrictions in the U.S. Bankruptcy Code that can complicate the process
- Factors that result in Chapter 11 cases becoming Chapter 7 cases
- The appropriateness of retaining the same professionals from the initial Chapter 11 case in subsequent bankruptcy filings
- Whether retention of the same professionals poses an inherent conflict of interest between dueling bankruptcy estates.
